Restaurant Reviews

Restaurant reviews are the rarest form of review that you will find on this blog. It is not that I don't go to a lot of restaurants. I eat out a lot, whether I am at home or away for business.  I eat out so much that if I spent any amount of time reviewing the restaurants, I would have to basically convert this blog into a very amateurish version of Yelp.

Instead, I only do reviews of restaurants that basically leave me at a loss for words. (That creates an entirely different dilemma when it comes to the review itself.)  The restaurants that are reviewed below comprise what I believe to be some of the best restaurants that I have ever set foot in and/or some of the best dining experiences that I have ever had. So, if there is a review on this page, its presence is a sign that there was something about the dining experience that was so unforgettable that I wanted to make sure that I would never forget it.  And, if you should happen to be in the vicinity of that restaurant, you should definitely go and experience it for yourself.

Here are the restaurant reviews that I have done to date:

Owamni by the Sioux Chef: Probably the best culinary experience that I have had to date. The restaurant focuses on Native American cuisine without any of the colonizer ingredients.  It represents perhaps the main reason why I would go back to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Little Inn of Washington: Everyone needs to go to a restaurant with at least one Michelin star. The Little Inn of Washington has (at least the last time I checked) three Michelin stars and, quite frankly, based upon the culinary magic of what Patrick O'Connell and his staff are able to create, the Little Inn deserves more of those stars.

Picasso: Restaurants in Las Vegas are a dime a dozen, but a truly excellent restaurant -- one that not only serves great food, paired perfectly with the right beverage, in the best setting -- are truly rare. This restaurant is one of those rare finds and you can find it at the Bellagio.

Carnevino: I did this review simply because I love meat. This restaurant served a special tasting menu of some very tasty meat. Enough said.

Amp 150: A restaurant that can prepare and serve perfectly grilled sweetbreads deserves its own review. When that restaurant serves an entire meal that is just as perfect as those sweetbreads, well then it gets the honor of being the first ever restaurant review on my blog.

PEACE.
